Dow Jones Industrial Average	The key index of 30 U.S. large capitalization stocks traded on the NYSE and NASDAQ. It is the most commonly used measure of the U.S. stock market.
S&P 500	The Standard and Poor's index. Another widely used measure of 500 U.S. stocks.
NASDAQ	The 'National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotes' index, based in New York. In recent years, the Nasdaq has become an equally important measure of US stock performance.
S&P/TSX Composite Index	The key index of Canadian stocks traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange. It is the most commonly used measure of Canadian stock market performance.
S&P/TSX 60 Index	A more properly diversified index of Canada's 60 "blue-chip" stocks.
FTSE	The key index of British stocks traded on the London Stock Exchange. Commonly referred to as the "Footsie".
DAX	The key index of German stocks traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
CAC 40	The key index of French stocks traded on the Paris Stock Exchange.
NIKKEI	The key index of Japanese stocks traded on the Tokyo stock exchange. Pronounced "knee-kay".
HSI	The Hang Seng Index. The key index of stocks traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It is heavily weighted in technology stocks and is a major indicator of the general performance of the rest of the Pacific Rim excluding Japan.
IBOV	The Brazil Bovespa Stock Index. A measure of value of Brazilian stocks.
MEXBOL	Mexican Bolsa Index. A measure of valuation of Mexican stocks.
